FOURDRINIER– Z BOX STEAM PROFILER
The Patented Transphase Z-Box Steam Profiler is mounted close to the sheet and delivers multiple machine direction steam jets to the sheet each followed by a converging zone which forces the steam into convergence with the sheet, maximizing the exposure of the sheet to the steam while minimizing the ability for the steam to spread in the CD. The converging zones constrain the steam flow into intense narrow CD zones to provide greater CD moisture control than conventional steam boxes.
COUCH Z-BOX STEAM PROFILER
The multiple Z Plates mounted in the machine direction allows for custom design of the steam delivery to the moving web.
This application produces excellent results for machines making heavy basis weights which do not operate with lumpbreakers and at a speed greater than 1600 fpm.
- Typical steam use of 0.1 to 0.12 tons/ton.

Press Z-Box Steam Profiler
The Transphase Press Z-Box Steam Profiler is custom designed to fit the space available in the press section. Best results are obtained when installed against a suction roll or box.
The Z Plates help to keep the steam jets clean while forcing the steam into convergence with the sheet, maximizing the exposure of the sheet to the steam while minimizing the ability for the steam to spread in the CD. The converging zones constrain the steam flow into intense narrow CD zones to provide greater CD moisture control than conventional steam boxes.

- Increased sheet dryness increase of 1.5 to 3 %
- Up to 80% reduction in 2 sigma CD Moisture
The CR-2 pneumatic actuator is designed for the toughest of steam box applications. The interior components are constructed from Inconel 600 or higher while the exterior is 316L stainless steel.
